local

Once a GRITS has been in one place for a while we have to start making it "homey" to survive. So, I'm working on it. With being a "local" comes knowing the secret places that tourists don't know about... (yet I'm still very much a tourist).

Some of the local "to dos" in the City have been plain delightful. I've seen some awesome things lately... here are few highlights!

Chinatown's Pearl River Market
. It's the closest thing I've seen to a Wal-Mart since I've been here. From tea sets to gymnastic shoes, and shampoo to hanging lanterns... they have it. Here I bought a surge protector to hold all of the electronics it takes for a GRITS girl... I've been having a light flickering problem on my side of the house :/

The Chat & Chew. Near Union Square is a scrumptious little place with a menu that is real "home cooking!" Thank goodness for some comfort food. The Maryland crab cake I had definitely rivaled some of Florida's best...

thanks for reading everyone,
xoxo
